This is another recipe from the vintage cookbook North Dakota Where Food is love published in 1994. I can remember this being a favorite that was brought to pot lucks often when I was a kid. 🙂
- 1 (1lb) pkg shredded cabbage with carrots
- 2 pkg Ramen noodles (oriental flavor)
- 1 c sunflower seeds, chopped
- 3/4 c almonds
Dressing:
- 5 Tbsp white vinager
- 3/4 c vegetable oil
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 3 Tbsp sugar
- 2 pkt Oriental-flavor dry soup base from above noodles
Make dressing ahead and chill. Combine cabbage, carrots, and onions (I didn’t miss the onions in the ingredients – there are none listed). Just prior to serving, add sunflower seeds, toasted almonds, and uncooked Ramen noodles, crushed. Toss lightly with dressing and serve.
